fiestaDon’t miss the Lake County Fair! The theme this year is Party with the Animals and there’s plenty of animal fun scheduled! The Fair opens on Thursday, September 1, and runs through Sunday, September 4. Horse lovers will enjoy the Fiesta of the Horse, Thursday evening in the main grandstand. This event is an encore performance of Lake County’s finest horses and their riders, drivers and owners. Fiesta of the Horse is included in fair admission and sure to be an entertaining show! Young showman from throughout the county will be competing with livestock projects from bunnies to beef cattle, culminating in the Junior Livestock Auction at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Be sure, Rainbow Ag will be there, bidding and supporting the local youth who have worked so hard this year preparing their animals. Come out and enjoy the fair!

The Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show will be the final fair of the year, on September 16 through the 18th, at the fairgrounds in Booneville. Horse shows for both 4H and FFA youth, and Open are on Friday. CCPRA Rodeo happens both Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, and other events include a car show and sheep dog trials.

The Kelseyville Pear Festival will kick off on September 23 with a concert featuring Dave Stamey, the popular cowboy entertainer who “makes his living inflicting himself upon innocent people at music festivals, agricultural banquets and backyard barbecues.” Details here …
