Rainbow Wags September 2022

In case you needed reminding, this past weekend should have done the trick. Winter is coming! Well, not before Fall … which is upon us this week. The early rain certainly reminded me that my rubber boots have holes in them, and my barn coat is very worn out! Easily fixed, just by visiting Rainbow! Be prepared for the next bout of weather with new water-proof boots, rain gear, jackets and sweatshirts sized for everyone in the family. The Fall and Winter clothing is arriving in the stores daily for every member of your family. Check out the cute Women’s Ariat vests with matching dog coat for your pooch! Sweatshirts, vests and jackets … puddle-splashing boots in a size for everyone that walks … socks, hats and gloves to keep you warm and dry when outside working, walking your dog, or caring for livestock. Take a look at the Rainbow clothing department and be ready for Fall weather!

Not all pets have fur! Take a look at the new extended product lines for fish, birds and reptiles, now available in the small pets department. Everything from heat lamps to substrate, aquarium supplies to bird toys, at your local Rainbow store!

The onset of colder weather also creates a problem for the homeless pets at our local shelters. The shelters are full to capacity, and Foster homes and Adopters are needed. If you can’t foster, consider donating money or items to help the dogs in outdoor kennels stay cozy on these chilly nights. The Humane Society of Inland Mendocino County needs blankets, cat and dog kibble, canned kitten and puppy food and volunteers to help care for the almost 300 animals in their care. Every little bit helps, and you can learn more at the HSIMC Facebook page, or their website.

Here’s how you can help!
Donate! – You can donate supplies (food, litter, toys, collars, leashes etc) right in the donation tub at Rainbow in Ukiah, or you can donate at the HSIMC website.
Adopt! – We have HUNDREDS of animals that need homes!
Foster! – We can’t help all of the animals that we do without fosters! Become part of our lifesaving team at hsimc.org
