Spring, warmer days and thanks to all the rain we’ve had this winter – it’s Mowing Season! Up your weed-whacking game with a new battery-powered string trimmer, mower or blower. After this winter, there’s plenty of clean up to do and battery-powered equipment is changing the game. Quiet, efficient and long-lasting, the new outdoor power equipment is also super easy to run! Pop in the battery, pull the trigger and get trimming! No gas mix, pull-cords, or exhaust! There’s a electric OPE for every job, from occasional use light equipment to professional landscaping grade. Come in to any Rainbow store for a demonstration.

Here’s an event worth CELEBRATING!

Join HSIMC at Barra of Mendocino on May 6 for a catered dinner, live and silent auctions (four amazing vacation packages to auction off, custom made jewelry, professional pet portraits, and a 6′ chainsaw carving) and live music! Tickets are going FAST – purchase yours here and come clink a glass in appreciation of HSIMC for of all the wonderful years of saving homeless pets.

New at Rainbow – Muenster Dog Treats!

Muesnster Milling is a 4th-generation, family-owned-and-operated animal food manufacturer located in Muenster, TX. Muenster started their Natural pet food line in 1999, one of the first all-natural pet food diets in the country. Muenster follows a strict code of ethics when it comes to animal diets, giving pets the best food they can make. Their ingredients are sourced as locally as possible to verify what goes into the food and ensure the highest quality. Try the All Natural Dog Treats – Your pup will love ’em!

More fun stuff! Bring the kids to the Ukiah Rainbow store on April 1 for a Petting Zoo and Easter Photos with a cute critter, courtesy of the Redwood Valley Calpella 4H group! Enjoy the animals, support 4H and get a darling photo to share!

And, here’s something else worth sharing – Dog Nail Trims by professional groomer Alisha Richardson at the Ukiah store on April 8, from 3 to 5 PM. Alisha is a groomer and bather at Mendo Dog in Fort Bragg. There she has trained under Roxanna Hovan for the past seven years and become highly skilled at nail trimming. During the pandemic, when vets and groomers were understaffed and overbooked, she began offering mobile nail trimming to provide more access for rural clients. She is a Siberian husky enthusiast who specializes in grooming northern breeds but she loves working with all kinds of dogs.

Trivia! Enter to win a $15.00 Rainbow coupon, good on any purchase at any Rainbow store!

Last month’s question was, True or False – Neutered male pets are less likely to develop heart problems. Our winner is Roberta Castellani with the correct answer of False. There are many benefits of neutering male pets, including that they are less likely to develop testicular cancer and prostate issues, and less likely to roam.

The March question is, How old is the Humane Society of Inland Mendocino County?
