Rainbow Wags August 2020

Though this might qualify as the strangest summer ever, some things never change – like Rainbow’s support of our local youth in agriculture! Rainbow offers the Horizon Program, to support youth in 4H and FFA who raise livestock to sell each year at the local fairs. With the Fairs canceled, many of the Junior Livestock Auctions have moved to an online format. This is a big change, and a big challenge for not only the Fair Boards and Committees, but also the young women and men who have spent close to a year caring for their Fair animals. Through the Horizon Program, Rainbow offers discounts on feed and supplies, hosts educational seminars on everything from correct feeding to showmanship, and has dedicated staff available to advise and guide. Then, when it all comes to fruition, Rainbow is there bidding and purchasing at the auctions. The Redwood Empire Fair Junior Livestock Auction took place, online, the weekend of August 7-9. Records were set at this first, online auction! Congratulations to all the young showmen who figured out how to fit and display their animals in a totally new way! The Redwood Empire Fair Online Auction was a huge success, and now we will move on to Lake County, to support the Lake County Fair Junior Livestock and Metal Fabrication Auction, to be held September 4 – 6. For all the details on how to be a part of the Auction, check out the Lake County Fair’s website.

“See” you online, during the bidding, because Rainbow will be there, fer shur!
