Rainbow was ready to roll into action when the latest wildfires broke out in Mendocino and Lake County. Unfortunately, wildfires have become far too common in our community. Rainbow is grateful to work with local animal rescue and protection groups, including Orphan Dog and LEAP in Lake County and Mendo Shelter Pets Rescue, Humane Society of Inland Mendocino County and SAFER in Mendocino county, to provide needed supplies and resources for those affected by the wildfires. Donations can be made to all these groups in both Rainbow stores (look for the donation bins by the doors, too). Rainbow would also like to thank the Lakeport and Ukiah staff that kept the stores open under tough conditions, so that people had a way to care for their animals and property.
Rainbow also has a program to assist those who lost their home in the fires, to help them get back on their feet, as has been done in each fire disaster. If you need assistance, please see a store manager for details. Rainbow is local and family-owned and has been a part of this community for generations. We will continue to support the efforts of the local groups and our community. Please be fire safe!
Rainbow is also proud to support our 4H and FFA youth at the fairs every summer!
Well, EVERY day is Dog Day at Rainbow Ag, but National Dog Day is coming right up, on August 26! National Dog Day celebrates all breeds, pure and mixed and serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, either from public shelters, rescues and pure breed rescues. National Dog Day honors family dogs and dogs that work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day – for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for the disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage. Celebrating National Dog Day can be as easy as giving your four-legged friend a big hug and kiss (if they like that sort of affection)! But for those who want to take their love and appreciation to another level, the National Dog Day website has a list of twenty different ways for you to celebrate!
Lakeport Rainbow Ag has a new parking lot! Check out the newly graded and paved parking area in front of the Lakeport store. For our Lake County customers – No more “Lake Rainbow” this winter! Construction should be done early this week, but the back parking lot has plenty of space and the store is open!
