OTRL August 2023

We are officially in the middle of summer! Hope you are out there enjoying all that Mendocino and Lake Counties have to offer for horse lovers –  from trail rides in the forest to gallops on the beach, parades, shows, rodeos and barrel races! Ride on!

Electrolyte supplementation is often thought of as only needed by performance horses; however, any horse that sweats for a prolonged period of time, regardless of reason, will benefit from electrolyte supplementation.  Apple Elite Electrolytes provides a complete electrolyte formula to replace vital minerals and encourage water consumption year-round. And right now – August 3 through 31 – get a FREE 60cc (three doses) of Farnam’s Apple Elite Electrolyte Paste when you purchase the 5# tub of Apple Elite powder! The paste is perfect to keep in the trailer or saddlebags for use on the road or out on the trails, while your horse will benefit from the daily electrolyte supplementation of the powder dissolved in their drinking water. There is still plenty of hot weather ahead and as we head into Fall, we know that the changing weather can cause our horses to not drink enough water. Be prepared with a great deal on Apple Elite Electrolytes!

Just a couple of the events coming up!

The final show in the Shoreline Riders Ranch Versatility Series is coming up on August  13. Great day end awards and fun in the cool coastal climate! Entry forms are available at www.shorelineriders.com.

Support a most worthy cause and have a fantastic dinner too! It’s the 10th annual Claws for a Cause on September 2. Enjoy a lobster and filet mignon dinner, wine and beer, auctions and live music, all to benefit the Seabiscuit Therapeutic Riding Center at historic Ridgewood Ranch in Willits. S.T.R.C. is an adaptive horsemanship program dedicated to teaching the skill of horsemanship to children and adults with disabilities, helping them to thrive in their daily lives. It’s Fair Season! The next few weeks are busy ones for FFA and 4H youth and their families. Rainbow is excited to be part of the livestock competitions and auctions, and we always enjoy seeing the work and care put into projects. 4H and FFA members have been bringing their buyer letters in to the stores. Don’t forget that Rainbow has all the supplies you need for a successful show, including those all-important “Whites!” Join in the fun by attending one of the livestock auctions, or watching a competition that might be new to you (chicken showmanship, anyone?) Here’s to a successful and fun Fair circuit!

Check out the clearance sales at your local Rainbow store! Up to 70% off certain styles of boots and clothing. Rainbow is making room for the Fall clothing arriving soon.
