Shaylene Smith at High School Rodeo

News From Shaylene - April 2010

Hey everyone, it's Shaylene Smith with High School Rodeo. I just had my last rodeo in Red Bluff February 26, 27, and 28. It was a blast - I was able to meet District One members and I think some of District 3 and 5 were there too. There was also the Special Rodeo which is what I wrote my High School Rodeo Queen contestant speech on. Special rodeo is such a great opportunity and so much fun to be able to see disabled kids have so much fun.  I helped with the pole bending and they loved weaving and running through the poles. But it couldn't have been better. My next rodeo is April 9, 10, and 11. I can't wait; it is going to be in Ferndale. For anyone that is going up there the Ferndale FFA is going to be having a Tri-Tip dinner. It's only $10 a plate and I heard you get a lot on it. There is also going to be a Barrel race Friday. If you need any info about those events you can go onto the CHSRA District 2 http://www.chsradist2.com/ web site. There were many people from District 2 that went to Challenge. Congratulations to everyone that went and especially to Kenzie Williams for doing good in your events and for getting all-around cowgirl. Well, hope everyone has a great Easter. I hope it doesn't rain. I also hope to see everyone at the next rodeo! If you have any questions you can email me at shaylenesmith@gmail.comShaylene Smith Running Poles

News From Shaylene, February 2010

Hi my name is Shaylene Smith and I am in High School Rodeo. I want to thank Rainbow Ag for sponsoring me in High School Rodeo for my 2010 sophomore year. On January 29, 30 & 31, I participated in the High School Rodeo in Santa Rosa CA. The weather was ok on Saturday but really cold on Sunday. I didn't do as well as I wanted but it was still fun. I talked to people Ii don't usually talk to and that was nice. Everyone in High School Rodeo are very supportive and always willing to help. I really enjoy being in High School Rodeo. My next rodeo is in Ferndale CA on February  12, 13 &14. I hope everyone can make it. I'll send a report soon!

You can also go to www.chsradist2.com to look up when rodeos are and point standings. There are also pictures from recent events.
