Anderson Valley Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization
committed in several ways to the unwanted canines and felines of
Mendocino
County, but primarily through rescue and rehoming, spay and neuter,
transfers from Menodocino County Animal Control and "educating" new
adopters. There is no physical shelter; animals are fostered in homes of
volunteers throughout Mendocino County and even Santa Rosa are until
they
are ready, physically and emotionally, for adoption. Adoptions occur at
Petco in Santa Rosa every Saturday and in other locations within
Mendocino
County such as Rainbow Ag in Ukiah. All animals are neutered/spayed,
vaccinated, microchipped and tested (Canines for heartworm, Felines for
feline AIDS and leukemia). Those that test "Positive" and are otherwise
adoptable, are put up for adoption with support/treatment as are any"special needs" companions. Some are placed through breed rescues, Marin
Humane Society, SFSPCA and other rescue entities with AVAR paying
required
fees. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, volunteering or
donating, please call the director, Cheryl, at 895-3785 or volunteers
Charlene (468-5218) or Bobbie (743-1296).
Meanwhile, get yourself down to Rainbow Ag and see the latest wonderful
cat
waiting for a lifetime loving home. Yours?
