Randell 3 pt. A New Spray Technology Charges into Town

Starting July 23rd, at Rainbow Ag Services, grape growers will get the chance to participate in demonstrations of the latest revolution in spray technology. Electrostatic sprayers are here to take over the town.

Ready to demonstrate the sound science behind this new spray technology, Rainbow Ag is bringing two different sprayer models to North Coast vineyards; both are getting sharp looks from those eager to find tools that hammer down costs and build up good relations with their neighbors.

Making a debut appearance, Randell's newest on-target, 3-point, single-row sprayer is the latest and greatest for smaller-scale vineyards. Capable of spraying multiple rows, Randell's larger, over-the-vine sprayer is a workhorse in big operations.

What sets Randell sprayers apart?

  • Electrostatically charged particles. These particles are attracted to all leaf and berry surfaces, giving you maximum coverage with the least amount of chemicals. At the same time, the strong electrical attractions between vine and spray dramatically reduces drift and run-off.

  • Small particle size. Randell sprayers atomize droplets to a uniform, 40- to 80-micron size, producing a thinner, more complete spray coating. You can see why your ag chemicals go further.

  • No special equipment is required. Randell sprayers hook up easily to small tractors, so even the smallest operations can make use of Randell's on-target, high performance sprayers.

  • Rainbow Ag is your servicing dealer. We've teamed up with Randell to provide parts and service on this product line. Now you can put the Randell electrostatic sprayers in your fleet and rely on the sale, as well as after-sale support from of the Rainbow Ag team.

Come see for yourself. Schedule time to participate in Rainbow's up-close field demonstrations. If you want more information or if you would like to schedule a demonstration in your vineyard, call Rainbow at 462-2404, or e-mail us at sprayerdemo@rainbowag.com.

Did you know...

That electrostatic sprayers offer complete coverage of all leaf and berry surfaces because the grapevine is planted in the earth, and it acts as an electrical ground.

Therefore, when the positively charged particles of the spray emerge from the nozzle, they are electrically attracted to the vine, and the super-small mist droplets coat all surfaces, even those that are not directly exposed to the spray. This results in more efficient chemical use.

All Makes Parts from John Deere

Rainbow is participating in a new John Deere program that, in most cases and for most makes, delivers a one-stop shop for replacement parts.

More than 72,000 parts are currently cross-referenced in the system, and that number is growing. Getting parts for tillage tools, seeders, sprayers and mowers has never been easier.

The result for growers? Comprehensive service and easy ordering from a company with demonstrated ag equipment expertise.

Contact our parts department in Ukiah (707) 462-2404 or in Calistoga (707) 942-4566, or e-mail your needs to parts@rainbowag.com.

Lynn Schuler: Calistoga's Parts King

After too many cold winters in Iowa, Lynn Schuler, a grain farmer, came to California. Like so many transplants, he came to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Working with Rainbow for almost three years, Lynn helps his customers identify their parts needs, he orders the required parts and keeps the parts department huge inventory under control. No small task.

With a degree in diesel mechanics, Lynn's experience is a big help when you're trying to figure out which part your tractor or implement might need. As Parts Manager at Rainbow's Calistoga location, Lynn offers his customers, and the mechanics he serves, a lifetime of experience with agricultural equipment.

In participation with a new John Deere parts program (see the above article), Lynn can ship the parts you need directly to your place of business. It's a convenient service that minimizes the demands on your time. He can obtain parts for almost all makes and models, so give him a call at (707) 942-4566.
